From Makkah to Madinah: The Turning Point of the Ummah
In this week’s khutbah, Imam Wazir reflected on one of the most pivotal moments in our history: the Hijrah — the Prophet ﷺ’s migration from Makkah to Madinah. Far from being just a physical journey, the Hijrah marked the birth of a new phase for the Ummah: a transition from persecution to protection, from isolation to community, from despair to hope. Imam Wazir reminded us that this migration was not driven by fear, but by purpose — to preserve the message of Islam and establish justice, mercy, and brotherhood. The khutbah invited us to reflect on what we are willing to leave behind for Allah’s sake, and how we, too, are called to make our own “Hijrah” — not necessarily across land, but away from sin, doubt, and worldly distractions, toward Allah and His Messenger. A powerful reminder that with sacrifice comes divine support, and with every sincere step toward Allah, a better home awaits.
