Hajj: The Pillar Of Islam We Put Off
Hajj is a pillar of Islam that many delay, even when they have the ability to fulfill it. This khutbah is a reminder that completing our deen requires action, not postponement. It calls us to take this obligation seriously, seek Allah’s forgiveness, and prepare ourselves with taqwa before the opportunity is gone.
SHEIKH MATEEN SABREE
5/2/2026

In this important and motivating khutbah, Sheikh Mateen Sabree reminds the community of the central role of Hajj as one of the five pillars of Islam. He explains that Islam is built upon a complete foundation, and that neglecting any pillar (especially when one has the ability) leaves a deficiency in a person’s faith and commitment.
Sheikh Mateen Sabree emphasizes both the obligation and the immense reward of Hajj, highlighting that a sincere and accepted pilgrimage can cleanse a person of their sins completely. He also warns against delaying this obligation without valid reason, encouraging believers to take action while they have the health and means to fulfill it.
The khutbah concludes by connecting Hajj with the broader concept of taqwa, reminding us that true preparation is not only physical and financial, but spiritual. Believers are urged to strengthen their relationship with Allah, purify their intentions, and carry the provision of taqwa throughout their journey in this life and into the Hereafter.
