BROTHER MUHAMMED MPETI
2/20/2026

In this uplifting and motivational khutbah, Brother Muhammed reflects on the immense blessings that Allah ﷻ has placed within the holy month of Ramadan. He reminds the community that fasting is not a new act of worship, but a timeless command prescribed to previous nations as well, with one central goal: the development of taqwa; true consciousness and fear of Allah.
Brother Muhammed emphasizes that Ramadan is a month of purification and cleansing the soul from sins and disciplining the body from desires. Fasting acts as a shield, protecting the believer from immoral behavior, harmful speech, and sinful actions. He explains that this month is filled with barakah in every moment, every action, and every reward. Good deeds are multiplied, the gates of Jannah are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed, and the devils are chained as a mercy from Allah.
The khutbah highlights the importance of fasting with sincere faith and hoping for reward from Allah alone; not out of habit, social pressure, or fear of people. When fasting and standing in prayer are done with true iman and expectation of reward, Allah promises forgiveness of past sins. Brother Muhammed also reminds us to guard our tongues and behavior, as fasting is not merely abstaining from food and drink, but abstaining from wrongdoing.
He concludes by urging the community to value every moment of Ramadan, to treat it as though it may be our last, and to strive for Laylat al-Qadr and the mercy of Allah before the month departs.
